Thanks for taking part in our first ever attempt at digit.iLL.Funk, iLL-Literacy’s collaborative music platform!  We just recorded this track Doyoudonotsee? a few days ago, and have just a few more elements to add.  At this point in our process, we’d start incorporating live instruments, but this time we wanted to welcome the world to our cypher.

First, please download a rough draft of Doyoudonotsee? by clicking HERE.

Like I said, there’s still a bit to be done…we’re looking particularly for a bassline and guitar riff to add to the track, but we’re also open to other additions, and would love opinions from creative ears.

There are 6 ways that you can get involved:

doyoudonotsee_musician As a Musician.
1. Play Bass.
The bassline is the backbone to a song. Without the right one, a track often move sluggishly, unable to stand on its own. We are in search of a bassist who can provide a riff to transform the track into a danceable one.

2. Play Guitar.
A powerful and catchy guitar riff can be the difference between a track and a classic. We would love for a skilled shredder to elevate our song to the next level.

3. Play Something Else.
We’re also open to ideas that might be beyond our current imagination. If you have a musical idea to help enhance the track, we’re all ears.

doyoudonotsee_listener As a Listener.

1. Tell us what you think.
What do you love about this track? What should we change? Join the discussion at the Doyoudonotsee? post on Blind I For the Kids!

2. Make the final call.
After we narrow down our favorite Musician submissions, we leave the decision to you. Voting begins March 10, but you can sign up for a reminder.

3. Support the music.
We’re exploring new ways for listeners to support artists without having to put a price tag on the music. If you’d like to support our cause, we’d appreciate a small $3 donation which will directly go into the pockets of the contributing Musicians.
